not impressed with trans go

So I repaired a 5 speed for a customer that had been built before and failed, the other builder did not upgrade the springs in the drum...among other things, so I ordered a full trans go basically just for them springs...no problem 1 month Later I thought I would call transgo direct and order just them springs the guy pretty much told me that it wasn't his problem that the other guy didn't upgrade Them...and they did not wanna sell me them...bad business in my eyes.....

That's been their policy for many years. I've built quite a few Alli's without the springs. In certain cases I don't want them in the trans.

I don't see the problem either. Not your fault the previous rebuilder didn't do the job. Charge the customer a fair price, repair it according to your knowledge and stand behind i. Simple.

I see all sorts of shit. I have a 68RFE here from another shop right now, they charged the customer $10,500 installed for this thing. It is STOCK with a TransGo shift kit in it & maybe some red eagles (hard to tell, they're all welded together). Switch valve bore in the valve body worn right out. The so-called "cryo treated" input shaft has a ton of wear where the rear stator bushing rides. Not even an upgraded sprag in it. Disgusting.

But hey, it had a deep platinum... err... aluminum pan on it.... :thumb:

I Was looking to BUY the springs from them to complete my kit not a big deal the trans I have built always get them...just thought they would sell them separate...the trans i was repairing was trashed from other reasons not because of the springs...lets just say there was tables in the tcm tunetune that somebody should have left alonealone
