Noob to D-max

Hi I used to own two dodge ram CTD's, sold them both and now I'm in school to wrench on aircraft.

When I get enough money someday I want to buy another truck and I was thinkin about a D-max.

I Loved the cummins but the dodge part of it was a complete POS!!!!

And the d-max seems to have a good track reccord. My gf's dad had a GMC sierra and I Loved the interior and the way it drove, it was gas but still a nice truck.

So I'm just here to learn as much as I can about the D-max as I can

I have decided on an LB7 as it seems to be the least complex of them all and they dont have EGR on them.

And EFI live is very appealing to me as you can alter the ECM's programming with it. (Unlike Dodge Cummins)

yea but if I buy a used truck that had EGR on it, I can remove and disable it but the damage has already been done, the intake will be caked with soot and crap.

Welcome to the Dmax world. I love my LB7s, can't beat how cheap they are to buy and build.
Funny you mentioned the tuning on the Cummins, when I told my buddy I got EFI Live, he's been bitchin' ever since about still having to stack tuners, haha.

That is one of my reasons for wanting a duramax, EFI live.
I have used boxes in the past on my cummins but I would really like to just use the vehicles own PCM and just edit its programming and you cant do that with a cummins, at least not like you can with EFI live.

I thought Van Aaken came out with something similar to efi for the newer dodges

I have a lly and still have the egr:rofl:Seriously though i dont see where the egr has affected me yet. Maybe i shouldnt ever pull the intake off of her Maybe thats why my spark plugs file out so much
