Check voltage across switch pins

Was the ecm set to switch with dsp or the edge?

You can ohm out the switch and the resistance should change with each setting.

You should have 5 volts also.

What kind of scan tool? If you can see injection data you will be able to determine if the tunes change or not.

It shouldn't be stuck on the race tune unless you have the selector ring on wrong.

If the base tune is the race file it will run off that tune if there is no switch hooked up.

Op does the edge have tuning on it still?

its a genisys scan tool. i cant remember if it can read that or not.. i changed the selector ring made sure it was turned all the way clockwise. its def on a pretty hot tune.. its smoke s like a freaking train :( which i wouldnt mind at a track but im not to fond of looking like a jackass around town. could my edge have screwed it up?

When it was in the other truck the switch broke and it was stock on #3. it also came out of a 04 lb7. mine is a 02. Everything works fine on both trucks besides me not being able to change tunes.

Unhooked everything plugged it all back in and checked voltage off switch. now all positions are showing a change in voltage.. Also i noticed the red and black wires were backwards in the ecm. could this have been this issue? still havent takin a test drive but hoping for the best. thanks for all the help and info...
