Just curious if anyone else has done this? Im bout to build a 66/s480 setup when i get my built motor back from machine shop and didnt feel like trying to fab a wastegate in there. My buddys cummins ran a 63/s480 non gated and it drove awesome...went 11.3 @126mph. Anyone else done this on compounds? What are potential problems i could run into not wastegating the 66.

Over spinning the charger and taking out both turbos and the motor.

if you dont gate the 66, you can overspeed it pretty easy IIRC. dont take my word for it though.

EDIT: tree'd, S Phinney got me lol

im gonna run a boost gauge and see what each turbo is making, on my buddys cummins the 63 was making 45 and 80 was doin 30 which i thought was pretty good.. I was planning to spray it but i think that will be a bad idea with no gate.

You shouldnt run without it gated. You have enough fuel to overspeed it fairly easily. A V8 moves a larger volume of air, so comparing to how it ran on a Cummins isnt very accurate.

Not a good idea... Enough fuel to take advantage/make use of the big charger is enough fuel to destroy the small charger. Could be a very expensive mistake- do it right the first time and gate it :thumb:
