Noise levels

I know this will vary greatly with tuning exhaust etc but in general how much louder is an lb7 compared to an lbz? My truck is 100% quieter than it was and I barely hear the engine noise when in the cab but it's still a good bit louder than my dads lbz. Both have diablo predators set on 120hp tune. Are the lb7 engines naturally louder than the newer engines? I'm sure my truck is fine and I'm just being paranoid here....

the lbz are much quieter than previous dmax's . the turbo, the different compession ratio, injectors,cp3. but for the most part its the turbo. mine idles like an lb7 (efi tune)

Yes, I'm envious of the quietness of the LBZ+ trucks. I wish my LB7 could be that quiet.

the additional pilot injection control (and variable vane turbo) is what makes the LBZ much quieter than an LB7 (and slightly quieter than a stock-turbo LLY)

It's wild I heard one of the 2011 trucks drive by work the other day and had to really stop and listen to tell if it was a 6.0 or a duramax, till I saw the ugly ass stock exhaust pipe that is
