no start. P0374

so my truck started then died tonight. i got the P0374 mil code. so i decided to pull the cam position sensor, well only half of it came out, the plastic was broke off the sensor body and the metal part stayed inside the whole. WTF do I do now. I can't get the metal part out. Also I dont even know if this was what made the truck died. It is has been starting funny the past few weeks. when you start it, It would start then sort of rev up to normal idle.

Man when it rains it pores.

check the Crank sensor too. you'll probably have to pull the front cover to get the broken piece out

also, I've never heard of sensors just breaking out of the blue. their clearance is tight to the reluctors. if the reluctor(s) are moving around which they shouldnt be obviously, then it might contact the sensors and break them i guess

How hard is it to pull the front cover off.

I pulled mine without removing the radiator so it wasn't to bad with air tool
