So I have been messing with this truck for a couple days and I'm stumped. It's a 2003 and swapped it to a lly top end and harness when we built it. We did away with all of the glow plug wiring and controller when we built it.

Getting p0340 and truck won't start. Started out we couldn't get it to crank over for more than a second without timing out. Finally changed the vin in ecm to truck vin and it would crank as long as I wanted. Cleared the codes after this and BOOM truck started right up

Turned it off, went in for lunch, came back out. Truck wouldn't start no matter what. Wiggled around the cam sensor wires and it started again. Turn it off and it started back up. Wait very long and it wouldn't start. Have continuity from pins to wires so that doesn't make sense.

Clear the codes and the first time i crank it over it reads rpm. If you don't clear the codes after every time you try to start it it won't read rpm the second or third times. It's building 5k rail, everything looks fine for truck to start, but it won't. It's almost like something isn't communicating. And that's keeping it from starting. My wiring skills are not up to par for this. I'm in desperate need of help and need to get this running asap. TIA

Just did some finessing and it started. Shut it off and it will not start again p0340 or p0341. That's the only ones I could see keeping it from starting

So we swapped the cam sensor for the 5th time to one out of an lly, not lbz (same part number I believe) and so far it has continued to start time after time. Hopefully that was the fix. Fingers crossed

I forgot to mention we swapped engine harnesses because we opened this one up and reloomed it and cleaned it up. Then we swapped truck side harnesses. We tried 3 ecms. 2 tcms. And this finally worked (hopefully)
