Not sure what the problom is? but my stock VVT doesnt build boost?

i had to start laughing this morning,simply going through the hassle of putting a stock turbo back on my truck and it doesnt even work!

I filled it with oil and cranked it over 6 times before starting it

i checked all the intercooler boots and connections....WTF?

no strange noises either


good thing i have a spare turbo :D

Ok, have you eliminated the tuners' as the possibility?

No wonder it doesn't have any boost, " Stock Tune". :p

Have you tried a different tune? Is the steeper motor working? Wonder if you need to try that spare turbo.

Are you getting any kind of code?

hmm why do you think its making no boost is it because of a gauge or lots of smoke/lack of powe? I am sure you know what you are talking about simon but I have never heard of a turbo not making boost. I am going to pay attention to this and try to learn something.

here is the only code and im not even sure what it means? possible loss of comunication

used a tech2 today to relearn the vane posistion and we could command the solenoid to move but neither helped?

im going to check it out some more right now

When you commanded a change, did it create boost. If not, the motor could be bad as far as giving a position reading. Steeper or position motor that is could be bad, or the variable vanes could be froze.
