NNBS/LMM Under-hood light

I'm finally irritated enough at not having a light under there I'm building a kit.

I'm rolling a DynaMat hood liner under my hood, which is somewhat reflective.

I have the old retractable light from an 88-98 but they look really out of place in the new trucks.

Has anyone done it yet? I would like some ideas.

vans have an underhood light. dont know if its standard or optional but its there on my 06

I'm thinking of LED and using the hood swtich to activate. I may just get one from a wrecked 1999-2007.

Keep us updated. I know I myself am irritated that I bought this brand new truck that doesn't have an underhood light. It doesn't make much sense to me but I'm not a gm engineer though.

I did it with my 04'. I ordered a replacement unit for a 01' H.D. truck.(they were standard equip. in 01') It is very simple install.........all the monting points are already in the hood and it operates on the 'pendilum' thing. Nice, easy mod.
