Nitto 420S tires at the track?Best 60ft?Suspension?

I'm running 305/50R20 420S and the best I've cut is a 1.83 60ft. I'm sure I ran to much tire pressure but I'm wondering what psi and what kind of 60ft you all have cut with them? That's also running spring clamps and all the front end braces minus a straight center link. I'm looking to cut my 60 ft to try and dip a lill lower in the 12's maybe 11's if I'm lucky. Just looking for some helpful advice. Also what's the part number for the rancho adjustable shocks and will they work with a lowering kit? 3-5 or 2-4/5? Thanks

What I cant figure out is why you guys run a heavy wheel/tire combo like 20s at the track. :confused:

Lower your psi by small amounts at a time to figure out what will generally work best. Lower psi more in the rear than the front, so the tire height/rollout is close to the same front-to-rear. Id start around 40/34 F/R and go from there. This can change depending on track conditions, temperature, launch psi, etc...

Thanks guys. I know 20's aren't the best but it's what I've got right now and running the 420s is a lot lighter then the terra grapplers I was running before. I've got a set of forged weld rims in a 17's that I'm wanting to run with slicks of some sort. I just haven't decide on which would be best and I'd need something I could drive to the track on. Just don't have the cash to drop on em at the moment. I wanna get the suspension started in the right direction first if I can.

Worth a shot running 25psi on wide tires going 100+ MPH? Sorry, not for me. Lowest I'll run on those tires is 40. You cant really make a wide tire wider by lowering it down like you can a 265.

I cut better 60's on my 18's and 33's than I do on my PYO's and 265's the only difference is the MPH in the 1/8th that I have seen. The lightest 20" rim is the BMF Novakanes, and their only about 10 lbs heavier than a PYO.

To run a wider tire and have more footprint on the ground. My wheel and tire combo is 84lbs each.
PYO and 265 10 ply tire weighs around 65lbs. I rather have the wider footprint. Maybe 80lbs of unsprung weight will make a huge difference but I like the low 60's I can cut with a wide NT420

It does make it wider and I need all the traction I can get. We have an 1/8 mile track here so were not pushing it too extreme. I just leave it on 25psi cause it helps out the already terrible ride.

Best 60' ft I cut was a 1.70 flat with my 420s's. 285/50/20's with heavy ass XD monsters. 16psi boosted launch with 34/30psi ran a 13.0@100. Also had numerous
13.0's at 104 with a 1.74 before my injectors started to take a dive.

While 1.7 60's are nothing to right home about i'm just throwing it out there my truck has cut 1.70's and a bunch of low 1.7's with 305/50/20 terra grapplers set to 35/30, caltracs and stock blown shocks. Once you get your tire pressures and suspension setup right you should be happy with the results.

Ok, so I'm going back with 3" drop shackles and leveling out the. front end. I'm thinking rancho rs9000lx and caltracs. Will the stock rs9000lx be ok on a lowered truck?

I'm thinking tires set at(front to rear) 43/40 and shocks at 6/9

Ok, will the shocks work with the drop? That's my main concern right now. I need to get them ordered if they will work. Thanks for the useful info. :thumb:

Newly was cutting 1.6x 60's on20" xd spys with 285/50-20 nitto 420s. He pulled an 11.06@ 126mph at LVMS on that setup. Not sure on his tire pressure but that was on a set of bilsteins.

Mine balenced out as close to perfict as anyone could ask. Ride good, I was a lill worried about tire psi so I ran a lill more then I should have and wore the centers more then I should. I wouldn't haul/tow much if anything with them tho. I have but don't recommend it. Decent price compaired to buying other tires.

They make my truck pull to the left. I have no idea why, but it started as soon as I put them on. I have even had it aligned twice thinking it was out. Both times they said it shouldn't be pulling before they aligned it, and nothing changed after having it aligned. Just to clarify, it was not pulling before I put the tires on, and it started pulling as soon as I pulled out of the shop with them on.
