Well short story. I have been dating my current girlfriend for 6yrs on the 27 of december. I finally decided its time to go to the next step. (Man, I thought trucks mods were expensive.) I went to buy here a necklace for christmas and walked out with an engagement ring. Not sure when I am going to ask her. Will keep you all posted

Buy what you need/want before you get married! Been married 15+, love it but...
Was in college and dating my wife.
1) told "girl friend" I'd buy myself a 65 corvette as a graduation present to self.
2) Then, would have covette before kids
3) would have corvette when I was promoted to 1st Lt
4) would have corvette when promoted to captain
5) would have corvette before kids..ops
6) would have corvette when I made major
7) would have corvette before house.
8) now have boat, ATV, RV, but no corvette since those are family oriented purchases.
9) Surly I'll get it when I pin on Lt Col......

Congrats. I too dated my wife for 6 yrs before we married. Started dating in H/S and her parents rule was no wedding until she was done with college or they wouldnt pay for her schooling or the wedding. I had no issue waiting. I wouldnt have changed it for the world though. (that just gave her more time to learn/deal with my diesel addiction.) lol

Congrats Man....

Marriage is scary, fun, all the good and bad stuff.

So long as she remains your friend you are in for a great ride.

My wife is my EFI datalogger and enjoys roasting ricers in my truck...

Cool deal! Best of luck.

We had a guy ask his g/f to marry him at our company's Christmas luncheon at the local country club this past Fri. It was pretty cool. He was all tore up and couldn't hardly talk. She was just a ball of tears. Pretty cool.

My wife and I haven't even been married 6 mo. yet. We dated 5.5yrs prior.
