LB7: Newbie

Hi ya'll

Just joined. First time diesel owner. Have driven many in my line of work but have never owned a personal diesel vehicle. Bought a 2004 2500 HD 4X4 with 85,000 on the OD. Bought from a dealership. That is a whole different story. So far I am really pleased. Went from a 95 F-250 460 to this. So far the difference is amazing. This looks like an amazing site.

Whats the 8th digit in the vin? If its a 1 its an lb7 if its a 2 its an lly motor.

BB 88

LB7 No alterations. Live outside Portland, OR. Truck is going into the shop this morning for some warranty work. Both upper ball joints are split open and there is a problem with the steering. Possibly the hydro booster. And this vehicle passed the dealership's safety inspection. Once again car dealers have lived up to my experiences and expectations.
