Been checking out the site for a few weeks now since I've been doing some mods to my 08 crew long box. Most of what I've read has been a bit above my knowlege base but I hope to improve that gap soon. My truck has a 6" lift with 35s and Toyo Mts. I've added a 4" magnaflow cat back and a Juice/attitude chip. My main drive now is to get rid of the DPF (for off road use of course). I've read and been told the computer needs to be reprogramed after this is done. Please excuse my ignorance with this topic but I am planning on having to replace the DPF Cat after I'm "done" off roading as I will need to go through emmissions in five years. Is this reasonable or am I all wacked out?
Asside from my main question above, I have a couple others...
Would it make a huge difference if I went to a full turbo back system after removing the DPF or will my cat back work ok?
Can I expect any increase in mileage (or power) from an after market intake like a Volant or Banks unit?
Finally,
What other upgrades are recommended for added durability and power to my family/work/toy hauling rig? I don't plan to do much racing at this time but I would like to "lay it down" when the boys at work start with the double dog dares. I would also like to keep the factory and extended warrantees in tacked as much as possible.
Thanks ahead of time for the help!
