Hey guys, new to the sight and diesel world. I picked up a 2002 gmc 2500 hd. Lb7 , about 205k on the clock. New injectors and cp3, 5 inch diamond eye. I'm looking for a decent efi tune that will be safe on a stock trans. Also any tips on tuning would help me out!

Are you looking to purchase EFI or just some tunes? What are your plans with the truck?

We have a tune library here, and I wrote a pretty decent (IMHO) [THREAD=42711]tune for a LB7[/THREAD]. Not strictly stock trans safe, though. But you could look at what I did vs. the stock tune, and dial it back a bit.

Should be of note, i don't think a stock trans will like it. My 1850 pw tunes can limp a stock trans if you're not carefull, so this one could defonately do one in. I've got a few stock trans safe tunes i can dig up if needed.

Even the 90hp tune you did for me couple years ago will slip/limp my 50,000 mile transmission if I'm not careful so I have to keep my right foot in check and never WOT at the 4-5 shift (rarely if ever go WOT)....

Your the 1st to say that. I have it in probably 20 trucks and you're the 1st to say they've had a limp with it. Yours was the only one to get it as a non dsp single tune, all the others have it as a dsp5 on #3. Had some complaints about tires not holding and one guy tried a boosted launch and did some front end damage, but thats been it. Sounds like yours was limped before that tune was put in it. I know I built it to push a stock trans to the limit if it was healthy.

You read it wrong or I wrote it wrong Ferman, the tune has not limped the transmission but I have felt a shudder on the 4-5 shift so I'm a bit more careful. You sent me a single and a DSP5 tune..

Ok a shudder is different than a slip/limp. The shudder is your converter hating life, that I would expect if you beat on it very hard. The internals of the 6 speed are fairly stout compared to 5 speeds, but they didn't do much to help the converters hold when they went to the 6 speeds, and it's the 1st to slip and normally shudders when it does.
