New work truck

Well I’ve been dreaming of the day I can retire my 2008 6.0L. and get a 2015 6.0L with a Crew cab. Happened a little sooner than I thought when I found a killer deal on this truck. The LTZ is way more loaded then I wanted for work truck, but as long as I don’t get nickeled and dime to death by all the gizmos breaking down I’ll be a happy camper. All the driving and parking sensors are kind of weird not sure if I like them or not. I love the truck to bad it ain’t got more power like I though it would

since it’s got 4.10s. Maybe it’s the 20s or more TQ management.

My only concern is I’ve never been a fan of vehicles with 20 inch rims. Doing construction I hop curbs all the time, and I’m worried about tearing up the rims. What do you guys think that have 20s? Am I going to be able to hop curbs and stuff without turn these things up or ruined the tires? I’ll probably try and go to a 275/65 if I keep these rims.

As long as you aren't hitting them at speed, you should be fine.

I'm fine with 22's, now I'll probably bend one though.:roflmao: Nice truck, you will love it, parking sensors will make you brave! I don't give a **** in a parking lot now. Lol. Wife can drive it like she is a boss now as well, she picks up the boy from school in it every once in a while and all the other moms freak out when she backs it into the tiny spots at school like its a Mini Cooper...:woott:

That what I was hoping. Just got to remember that this one is nicer then normal and to take it easy. Sometimes I’m WOT going up or down curbs due to the mud and the fact it’s a work truck.

I’ll have to look at tire prices maybe I can justify getting 18s if the tires are that much cheaper then 20s. These wheels seem to go cheaper then I though used. I think I saw a set for $400-$600 on CL, but that will buy a wheel or 2.

The 4.10 might help more then I though. I got it loaded with tools and fuel now. It feels stronger then my old truck loaded. It’s heavy too 9000lbs vs 8500lbs on my old one.

GM can suck it for this one one though. I reinforced the bed rails with 3/16 3" x 2" angle iron to support my heavy ass toolbox. Well they put a 3/4" arch in the top of the rail. I can tell you it takes heat and a 7000lb truck to bend that angle iron into an arch. Which made me realize maybe 1/8" would have been fine over 3/16".
