I made a completely new tune for the new HHT unit I put on and I'm pretty excited about it, I think its a pretty wicked tune. Not super high performance or anything but it rips pretty good around town and seems like it would be an excellent towing tune.

If anyone wanted to give it a try I'll send it along.

One thing I'm looking for is advice on how to setup up the TLIQ tables, the ones for shifting. I kept them stock and it still gets a gnarly flare around 1/2-3/4 throttle shifts.

Any help?

i would leave it stock and see if it learns them out if it doesnt then consider tunning changes ... maybe set to do a fast learn . are your shift points stock ?

A lot of the shifting inconsistencies with the allison come from not driving the truck consistently. For instance, you blow the tires off then the next shifts will be all over the place. When my truck was in the 500 hp range I did not have near the problems that I have at 700 hp. I know it is eating at you to floor it but driving conservatively down low then rolling into it will help the shift problems.

Well... im almost positive that the flares are due to that table not being setup very well anymore because of the increased pulsewidth and the lack of defuel in that region.

They are currently stock. And all the shifts are great except for that flare. Shift points are stock. Anf the trans has had plenty of time to learn shifts. Been driving it for 2 weeks since I reset the taps.

I'll probably experiment once I get time to log. I got a feeling that adding some defuel there will solve my problem. Basically right now I can't accelerate slightly faster than normal because the shifting sucks and I had the jerkyness of the flared shifts. Probably hard on the trans too.

Full pinned is ok, and regular acceleration is good.

I had some luck with changing the TLIQ table drastically from stock.

The best way I can describe it is to make the TLIQ table look like the TBIQ. Mine are not exact but it follows the same general shape and values. I played with it a lot and came up with this type of pattern. My SCV was shifting like you are describing, and this seemed to help for normal to lightly spirited driving.

Also, the 01 tcm makes a pretty good difference over the LLY tcm tune as well.

... can I just plug in an 01 TCM? I think I have one sitting in the garage, or maybe its an 02...

I wish I had time to play around with this stuff already. I will play around with that TLIQ table when I get a chance though. I think adding some defuel for the shifts will help this problem.

The rest of the shifting is good, no excessive defuel. Just got a heavy flare at certain parameters.
