Finished Christmas shopping and couldn't resist :thumb:

And between Christmas and this, I'll be scraping by for the next month until payday :rofl: nobody to blame but me!

DPMS Panther m4 5.56

It's no Armalite, but I have read mostly solid reviews of these. Almost bought their cheap one with no forward assist or dust cover... but after doing my homework it looked like stepping it up a notch was worth the bucks. This one has a rail on top, so I will be going with a red dot sight at some point, along with a quad rail.... DPMS makes one that's cheaper (still has foward assist / dust cover) but the carry handle is non-removable... didn't know that until I saw one today.

Anyway.... should be fun. I have a lot of bolt guns and pistols etc. But other than an SLR95 (nice gun, but not real into the ak47 style rifles) this is my second "assault" type rifle. Always wanted one!

Lit off a few to see that it worked, then broke it down and cleaned it so we could become familiar with each other :hug:

Is it a 5.56 nato or a .223? If it is a 5.56nato remember that you can also shoot .223 remington ammo out of it BUT if it is a .223 you can not shoot 5.56 ammo out of it. Just a heads up! Nice rifle by the way i also have a Dpms M4 in .223 remington flat top rail with quad rail. Foregrip lazer, tactical scope etc.... it is addicting man be careful

Cool. Just a suggestion....you might want to rethink the quad rail unless you really really need to bolt some crap on the end (flashlight, vertical grip). They are pretty uncomfortable to hold on to unless you cover it up with the plastic inserts, which I think must have the highest markup of any retail item on the face of the earth.

It does have the 5.56 barrel.. checked before I bought it. Wanted to be able to shoot the hotter ammo. Only thing it lacks is the chrome lined barrel.... doesn't sound like a huge deal though because it's not full auto obviously.. and I don't plan on shooting 6k+ rounds through it. Would have been nice for cleaning purposes, but it is, what it is...

I am thinking about dressing it out with a foliage green magpul buttstock, grip and moe hand guard as far as the looks department goes. Then find a decent Hologram for it... what would you guys suggest that's affordable? My experience deals with scopes, never had anything with a dot sight.

I want to sell the scope off mine if your interested. It is a Bushnell Trophy tactical scope. Looks like a ACOG. It has a lighted reticle green or red. I want to put a actual scope on it for long range shooting. Google them and let me know if you may be interested i will give you a heck of a deal on it:thumb:

Those bump stocks are crazy... still amazes me it's legal! Noticed them on Buds guns a while back. Don't think I could afford the ammo lol

I don't have it for sale anywhere and im in no hurry to sell the scope so if you want whenever you get paid just hit me up for it. It retails for $250 i believe and mine is like new i would prolly take $150 shipped to your door on it!

My quad rail has plastic/rubber type inserts on it and you can buy them at the gun shows for like 2.00 a piece so 8 bucks to do the whole thing. I don't think that to expensive
