LML new to me Duramax

Hi guys, my name is Tim and I just bought my first Duramax which is a 2012 3500HD single wheel long bed. I hope you folks welcome former Cummins owners. Lol
Well I want to delete the EGR completely and want a kit that includes the coolant lines so the flow is still good.
I also want to know if anyone has done the CP3 pump conversion using the Industrial injection kit. Did your engine throw codes after the change?
Please give me plenty of feed back as I have a new learning curve after 11 years of working on a Cummins this dmax is a lot different.

Welcome!

On to the egr delete and cp3 conversion.. You'll have to have tuning done for both so best to do them together.. I wouldn't put an II kit on a dmax.. Their cummins stuff is o.k. Ish..

Werhli custom fab makes a nice delete/ conversion kit as I'm sure a few other vendors do.

If I was going to do one my first call would be to hsp, if they didn't do it then it would be to werhli.

Thanks for the information. Have any of you had trouble with it throwing codes after the CP3 conversion?

Well one of the kits says that they guarantee no codes and it needs no tuning. What tuner works best for EGR delete and CP3 conversion? I dont want a lot more power that can break the transmission.

You'll have to tune it with efi live. With a cp3 conversion tuning will be needed period..

Big three that come to mind on lml tuning is Tony at Ridgerunner, kory at ppei, Idaho Rob , wehrli might do tuning im not sure.

Egr has to be deleted to do the cp3 conversion. Dpf will have to be deleted too.

CP3 for LML by Industrial Injection

Industrial injection has a new kit it is a different part number than the one that requires tuning. Has anyone on ghis site tried this kit or know anyone that has? I know Industrial Injection has a good reputation in the Cummins department but I have never used one of their pumps on a Duramax. Hoping to get more feed back on this since I am new to duramax. I had a strong cummins that I hotrodded but I plan to keep this this duramax for camping not playing so if I can do just the pump and leave the egr and def on there for now I want to do that. I will probably delete the EGR eventually but after I become more informed about d-max engines.

You have to delete the egr to put a cp3 pump on an lml.

Didn't know he wouldn't do deletes.. Good to know. I'm about to order motor ops for a customers truck.

I know you answered the question clrussell, but either you didn't investigate or Industrial Diesel is making false claims in their advertisements which would get them in legal trouble.
I would like to hear more than one persons experience. Thanks for your input but I would like to hear from some others too.

Why do you feel that way about II? I have had good experience with them and their tech support provided good information. Used a lot on Cummins. Just like to know what the issues with them are? Thanks

Has anyone built a hybrid pump like for example a cp4 with the more durable parts of a cp3 inside of it. Just wondering.

Your money is better spent deleting it. The more common failures are associted with the emissions equipment, I've only personally seen a few lml cp4's fail, but a ton of def issues and cloged/cracked dpfs...
