Not new to a Duramax, just new to trying to figure it out
Always wanted a "Diesel", the Allison transmission sold me on the Duramax over the Powerstroke...I've been pleased!
Had one short spell of a knocking in the engine with white smoke blowing out, (First dealer that was out of town where I started experiencing the problem said it was an injector that was bad, but they were on backorder at the time...2nd dealer in home town didn't want to deal with it because they couldn't reproduce it). Changed stations where I fill up and the fuel filter and hasn't happened since.
Don't want to take to dealer for everything, want to learn more about it and making it perform the best it can.
Found this site searching for what could be causing what looks like a small oil leak (about 2" spot on driveway) and only appears after driving, then begins to dry out and fade. So, no constant drip. I'll be searching in the forum where my google search led me to on this site for anything, just wanted to throw out all what brought me here
