Hey. Whats up?
Back in January I just bought my first Duramax a 2003 Silverado 2500HD.
I needed a vehicle for the winter so that I don't have to ride my Harley all the time and decided that I was going to get something that I want. When I found this one at the dealer it was in my price range and got to looking at it and found a few things that I thought made it better and from what I have been learning over the past year I have found that when it has on it is not as impressive as I thought. what it has on it already is the Banks 5" exhaust, Banks Bighead recirculation valve, and Banks 6 Gun tuner. with what I have learned since I bought it is that the EFI Live seems to be the better choice for the Duramax but hey you live and learn. After I about two months of driving the truck guess what happened... yep the injectors went out so now im stuck till I can afford to replace those.

Welcome and sorry for the misfortune of injector failure. Brent @ LDS is the man for injectors when the time comes.

Welcome. Don't feel bad, when I bought my 03 back in 2010 my injectors went out 2 weeks later lol. When you can afford it Lincoln diesel specialties is the place to call

Sorry about your injector misfortune.

As far as the Banks equipment that is currently on the truck, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it at all. In fact, it is quality stuff. Is there better, individually tailored options out there? Yes, but if you can't afford to replace injectors then there's no reason to throw money at different tuning. I had Bank's on one of my trucks for many years and I beat the tar out of that truck and towed a lot and it was a very safe tune, decent mileage, and never gave me any problems. I dynoed the truck twice and every pull I made on all the different levels mirrored exactly what Bank's stated the truck should make.

Diesels are notoriously expensive to repair and maintain, but having a Harley your used to that I guess. If your not towing and hauling real heavy a Duramax is total overkill and will cost you a lot of money. Hope you like the ride, it's going to be an expensive one. . . . .

Sorry to hear about the injectors. I should say, if you are money conscious then you should stay very far away from the likes of this forum. Haha!!

Anyway, welcome! :spit:

I love my truck and I bought it to drive during the winter and to get dirty in the summer when im not on the bike. I am working on getting the injectors replaced just gotta get a loan to do it and being in the military I have options for that without going to the bank just going through a divorce makes money tight
