Hello guys,

So over the weekend I picked up 2002 extra cab long bed 4x4 in great shape.
The truck has 100,000 miles on it. The previous owner said he recently had all the service work done, including the injectors.
My question to guys since I'm new to diesels. What do I need to look out for as far as services, maintaintenance or overall to keep this truck running for another 100,000 miles plus.
I appreciate any input and suggestions.
Thank you in advance.

:welcome:
Congrats on the new rig!

As far as maintenance goes, cross reference what's been done already...Injectors are a huge deal, awesome they're done, score!

To keep it running, if that's all you're looking to do, adding a lift pump like and AD150 and treating the rig like you want to preserve it for every last mile its got will probably net you the most longevity.

Thank you for the nice words and the advice on the lift pump Cocoal

I just started to drive it yesterday and it's a blast.
Now I seem to be having an intermittent problem with "water in the fuel" light.

(I guess I'll just post it in the technical section)

If you've got that light coming on that's a pretty big deal. You need to check the filter on the passenger side of the engine. It has a dran at the bottom IIRC (I got rid of mine long ago) and the H2O in fuel sensor is in there too. If there is water in your fuel it can take out your entire injection system...so make sure you treat that light like its life and death, K! And get fuel.from premium stations that move ALOT of diesel...

X2, keep your recipts from fuel purchases as well. I got bad fuel once took out injectors, cp3 and they had to rebuild the factory fuel filter head. There where a few other trucks that had issss with the same station, they footed the bill. Don't let fuel sit in your tank for long periods of time either.

Keep power goals in line with what you can or want to pay for, it gets expensive real quick.
