I have watched many dyno's of vehicles including stock duramax trucks with no mods. I usually see from 230 to 250rwhp/410rwtq bone stock. I keep hearing you guys talking about 65hp tune up to 150hp tunes. Are you talking fwhp and if so, I have also read that 400rwhp is about the limit of a stock Allison to be on the safe side. If my eyes were correct via witnessing stock duramax LB7's and LLY's dyno numbers and the tuners(EDGE, Hypertech, etc) are talking fwhp then why is so many running 65 to 90hp settings? That would not hit 400rwhp.

Also, I searched and searched and could not find dynographs of b4 and after modding to see ACTUAL gains. Does anyone have this info?

about 90hp OVER stock is about the limit of the stock 5 speed (LB7/LLY) from what i have seen 6 speed's with a transgo shift kit can withstand more. If you just like to have some fun it will last for awhile but if all out racing is what you desire more is needed.

I am picking up a 2005 3500 Crew Cab LLY this week and it will be my daily along with towing the race cars from time to time. My goal is to shoot for over 20mpg unloaded since it will be my daily. Just curious on how much ACTUAL power I will be making at the different settings... I am assuming by your response 400 fwhp is the limit because from the dyno's I have seen 90 fwhp will not put you to 400rwhp on a diesel.

Its not an exact science, some transmission will hold more then others (stock)
Generally speaking your stock transmission will hold 90-120 over stock RWHP Not flywheel H.P. Regardless anytime you turn up the power you are taking away from the longevity of all your drivetrain conponents IMO.. I forget the exact amount of drivetrain loss you will see on a dyno with a diesel, but its a pretty sizable amount, point being 400RWHP is not a good idea with a stock transmisssion if you expect it to last any amount of time...

I just read the below on Edge website. So the gains are at the wheels. So for us peeps at sea level we would gain more power than their 4400 ft above sea level test vehicle.

The following power gains are representative of an actual test vehicle. These gains were measured on a SuperFlow Dyno at an altitude of 4400 ft above sea level, and represent power delivered to the rear wheels of the test truck. The only modification made to the test truck was the addition of the Edge Juice module. Power gains may vary based on vehicle and geographical location.

Level 0: Stock
Level 1: 40 Horsepower - 100 Foot Pounds of Torque
Level 2: 60 Horsepower - 120 Foot Pounds of Torque
Level 3: 75 Horsepower - 170 Foot Pounds of Torque
Level 4: 90 Horsepower - 200 Foot Pounds of Torque
Level 5: 125 Horsepower - 240 Foot Pounds of Torque

Do yourself a favor and keep shoping;) I would recomend a PPE if you are going hand held, There power ratings are at the flywheel JFYI....

Well I took the advice from a local friend who ran Edge on his ride and knowing I want my transmission to last as long as it can. I am not shooting for 400rwhp/750rwtq. I would be totally happy with 360rwhp/650rwtq. This will be my tow rig and daily driver.

There are lots of people running the edge, there are just better options out there for the money, IMHO;)

I have been doing searches, but very hard to find REAL world #'s. A lot of what it should make, but not many add this and go dyno threads..
