:poke:Any chance that these will be better than alto's in the longrun .....maybe dual sided. I was under the impression that they weren't dual sided. ?? I get the impression that these maybe better clutch material after all a tranny guy wouldn't get excited seeing a new set of alto's for the 1,000,000 time.

The C1 clutches are dual sided as compared to Alto single sided. C2 are single sided and C3/C4 are dual sided.
Looks tell me nothing about the clutches. I will put a set in Jason's truck and I will be able to tell how they clamp with my Allison DOC program. We will do readings on his Alto's and document clamping force then we will do the same with Raybestos afte about 500 mi. and I will be able to tell which clutch bites better and the pressure it takes to clamp it under the same driving conditions. Then Jason can go beat the snot out of them for a while. I will then pull the trans down and compare damage if any.

mike the dual sided c-1's, are there equal amount of clutch/steels as the alto single c-1's?

There are 6 frictions like the stock setup only with a thick apply plate which is the key. The apply piston does not center itself on the clutch pack and only allows 1/2 the clutches to bite down because of bowing. The thick apply plate evens out the apply force and gives you abot 85% or better clamping force.
Raybestos feels their C1 setup is better than Alto's. Time and testing will tell.
