I am thinking of putting a Edge 25500 Evolution Race Tuner in my 2006 and would like any feed back on pro's and con's. I have thought about doing the EFLive as well and just want to make sure I am buying the right one. If you think there is a better tuner please let me know and why.
Thanks.

What is your plans with the truck down the road, are you going to do the trans, use it for sled pulling or drag racing.hands down on tuners for me is Efi Live then if you do not want to play with the laptop then you have the next best thing PPE.

Also welcome to the site

I have a trans go jr kit to put in the transmission and I plan on just pulling my 13000lb 5th wheel. I don't plan on any racing or sled pulling just everyday use and towing. I have a bad habit of buying new toys and upgrading more then i need but that is my hobby and I enjoy it. This is my first diesel power truck and I'm trying to research every angle i can. Thanks for the input and any other advice is much appreciated.

If you are interested in the Edge EVO Race, I have been running one on my 06 LBZ for the last 3 months with good results. I pull on level 2, which includes a built in turbo brake, and adds about 65 RWHP to the truck, runs very cool (I have yet to hit 1350° while pulling my 11K toyhauler), and gives it the extra kick to pull hills faster. I really enjoy using the tuner for ease of use, gauges, easy installation, good shifting characteristics, low smoke, and so on. Level 3 is about all the stock Allison can take, but guys with TransGo jr. kit seem to be able to run level 4 w/o any slipping.

Let me know how I can help.

Welcome to the site, I will have to recommend EFI do to the fact you can do anything you want from mild to wild. PPE is the best box tuner out there with some good numbers being produced by them.

I can't recommend EDGE or BULLY DOG systems as we tried them both in the begining and both had issues. The EDGE would decide to shut my truck off while driving. And the bully dog locked our ECM up 2 times.

Thanks everyone for the input. I have heard allot of good things about Eflive and the new edge revo race. After the bad stores of the old edge i was concerned but Chad at Alligator seems to think its ok so that helps. I just wasn't sure about having to program it myself with the EFLive and then screw something up big.

I have lived most of my life in the hot summer kansas humid weather so chalk another up for you guys on that total.

Thanks for the welcomes and the help.
