I'm looking for the next step in resolving an error code P003A that just popped up with the check engine light.
I have a 2006 2500HD with the LBZ and 135K miles. Still runs okay but from what I've picked up on line I may have a bad VPS or solenoid.
Is there any suggestions with what direction or repairs I should do next? I'm looking for some help before I start looking for a good diesel shop.
Thanks guys.

If you have a scan tool capable of monitoring live data Pull the vane position sensor out and actuate it with your finger slowly. You should be able to see the actual turbo vane position pid on the scab tool vary. If it doesn't change when you move the sensor by hand you likely have a bad vane position sensor. If it does vary it's either a stuck vgt or vgt actuator.
