I've been lurking the site for a few years now on and off but never officially made myself known. Dipped into the diesel world after i could afford to buy my first diesel (courtesy of your tax dollars after my last deployment in 2010). Been slowly working on it ever since. Been a heavy truck mechanic since late 2010, never went to school for it but had a very knowledable foreman and coworker that took me under their wing up in the oil fields of North Dakota. Couldnt handle the cold like i used to 5 years ealier so moved to Florida, where my wife was born and raised, and took up another job for a trucking company. Ive learned alot from this forum and am thankful for all the knowledge that is shared here. That being said, anyone else in this area? Ive seen a few bad @ss dmaxes rolling around and curious if it might have been any of you?

I love me some duraburbs! I tried convincing the wife to get one or let me do an LBZ swap on her escalade... She got rid of it before I could start
Not many diesel gatherings onus these parts is there? I see pullers once in awhile on 75 ad I see brooksville has a pulling association but only 3 events were scheduled this year?

Theres a few pullers dwon around Bradenton Sarasota area, and they do most of there pulls in Brookesville or Inverness from what I have seen. I think they lost the domain name for there website last year. Theres not alot that goes on around these parts. A friend of mine said theres a few over towards north Tampa St Pete, but mostly kids out trying to roll coal.

Welcome Bradenton here :thumb:
floridatruckpullers.com keeps the pull schedule around here. Right not there are site issues because I just got a new computer. I guess you can see it but only with IE. I heard a bunch were going to the Bradenton dragstrip after dinner Saturday night.

a buddy of mine races his vette at bradenton, he said there are a few diesels that run there as well. might go check it out sometime. im just torn between what i want to do, drag race or sled pull.... maybe ill set up for both since it doesnt seem to competitive down here wont have to dedicate it to one or the other. how strict are the pulling regs? can you run a compound setup? if i drag im thinking of a 475/stock setup but if i cant pull with it then im back to rethinking again...

Currently there is no class for twins. There is WORKSTOCK & 2.6. They will let you pull but probably 2.6 out of competition though. Some pretty tough trucks in 2.6 here. A few travel & have done quite well. You can drag race every weekend, sled pulls local are not regular. Hope that helps

I want to take my BURB back to the track to see what it will do now with a good CP3, but I don't think the wife would be to happy with me if I did. Last trip out I got a bit froggy and launched at 10 pounds of boost, spun all 4, and ended up twisting my driveshaft. $426 later I got a new shaft, but she wasn't to happy about it.

I just buy my ol' lady something nice a few days before I buy truck parts. Seems to soften the blow a bit...
