I got a secondary ECM for a friend, and I was just want some advice on making sure I don't have any VATS problems etc etc. Also I was told I will need to do an injector flow rate relearn and a DPF relearn.

I also would like any advice or tips on removing the ecm. I have done it on the LB7's, LLY's, and a gasser but never on an LBZ or LMM.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ive been running no dpf for 15K miles. i put my stock exhaust back on and reflash to stock to take it to the dealer, when i did, got a code for not enough regens. as far as a dpf realearn, i don't know. i just assumed you would have to do an educated guess on how many regens needed based off your milage. mine used to regen once a tank pretty much. (250 - 300 miles)

as far as removing the ecm, the bracket is bolted on under the driver battery. pull it and the innerfenderwell and the ecm will come out..... as far as i remember

You can do an injector flow rate transfer with the V2 alone. Not sure about the dpf relearn, I know there is an option for dpf data reset or something with the scantool dvt's.

Check G0302 for the relearn counter.

The ecm comes out super easy, just pop open the hood, its on the driverside just remove the 2 connections and there is a tab that holds the ecm in place just press the tab and it comes out. No need to remove the fender wells or anything.

ECM swap was easy as stated the post before.

However getting the remote start to work *cough*cough* has not been easy. I tried changing stuff in the engine tune to make the VATS relearn faster but it didn't work.

Open up the Tune tool, click "Flash", "PCM Security". Then click the "Check Status" button and look for a line that says "IGN Cycles" (or something loke that. If that number is anything other than "0", select the "VAT Relink" tab, enter "0" in the "IGN Cycles" box and click the "IGN Cycles" button. Provided you have programmed the injector flow rates, your remote start should work now :).

Would you be so kind as to run me through the injector flow rate programming?

Thanks,

Adam

On Edit: I think it is covered in the new post. EFI tech support is awesome. I can't begin to thank the whole crew for the number of hoops they jumped through to get me my new efi live cable and the amount of money saved. Guy and Tracy Tripp also helped alot even though I was extremely frustrated at them sometimes. :)

The current firmware version is 2.6.10.
It would be worth updating to that before trying to diagnose the problem any further.

Cheers
Cindy.

Except for the problem reading... Paul said he could duplicate the problem (That means its probably not a 1d10t error on my end), so I'd avoid the 2.06.10 firmware for the time being... Technically, isn't the 2.06.10 "Public Beta" firmware?

So far I have upgraded to build 87 because I have auto update and I guess that the latest public update.

On Edit if you still think I need to try beta 10, I will.
