I just wish they had made them with something other than a damn Allen head... Oh well at least it's an upgrade

Torx would have been better

And I agree. I really rather have anything other than an Allen head.

Don't feel bad Russell, I've torqued every set I've ever installed to spec and have to use vise grips to take them out every time. The good news is vise grips pulls them with ease.

X2. I just flat out use a small pair of vice grips right away on the head as well as the allen. Saves me from stripping them

i stick the allen in and give it a few good taps and they seem to come out ok. I haven't had to use vise grips yet but ive come pretty close. allen and torx both are junk imo, but how else are they going to get us to keep buying parts we shouldn't have to?

Do you all use air or a ball end allen taking them out? If so that is most of the problem.

just a regular old allen wrench that is in very good shape. most of the time, im working on injectors i didnt personally put in and they always seem to be over torqued. it only takes me 2 more sec to throw the vice grips on and turn both the allen wrench and vice grips with one hand. have yet to hurt a bolt that way. Brians old twined GMC was the closest i came to possibly not getting a bolt out cause he stripped the head of a couple and they were DAMN tight

Iv'e had some that were tight but nothing a good vice grip with sharp teeth would take out. and Impact driver works well too. couple 3 smacks with the hammer and its loose. might be hard with the cab on but I take the cab off to do injectors anymore. so much easier and all together about 3 hours to remove and install the cab now that Ive done a few. then 1.5 a side to do injectors and cups start to finish.

i had to use vise grips on mine. they where so tight they all got messed up. so i ordered the new Merchant ones. I wish i had a lift to take my cab off. would make it so much easier.
