Question: New Guy

Been cruising the forum and there's a lot of good info! I'm new not only to the forum..but to being a diesel owner...I'm looking at doing my exhaust and was wondering what I will gain by running straight pipe with no exhaust? Will it run cooler?

I had a muffler on my truck when I first got it. Took it off. Made it a little bit louder but sounds really good. When I looked at the inside of the muffler, there wasnt any flow restriction. Just mainly for sound. Now going from stock exhaust to a 4"or 5" will make it run cooler for sure. Plus just sound wickedly badas$! :beer

Welcome to DD,your egts will be a bit cooler with an exhaust and a cold air intaake,not much differance with or with out muffler its just more noise and the exhaust is a little cheaper w/o the muffler
