Figures I'd join up and see if I can learn a bit about this new truck I got. My previous ride was a 2002 LB7, she treated me really good and never gave me any trouble, but my wife and I decided to upgrade and we found a 2004 LLY with low miles for a good price so we snatched it up, this is hands down the cleanest 04 I've ever seen and so far I love it.

From doing some light reading yesterday (4+ hours) it seems that with a few upgrades, the head gasket issues seem to all but disappear. This one only has 100,000 miles on it and its never towed anything in its life, so I hold out hope that an EGR delete, PCV reroute, intake upgrade. And a downpipe/exhaust upgrade will keep my head gaskets nice and solid, keep my temps down, and help the fuel mileage. That's the thought process anyway.....

Looks like a clean solid truck, just don't expect that lb7 fuel milage from it! My truck gets a best of 17-18mpg with the wind at my back going grandma speed  my old lb7 would get over 20mpg pretty easy.

That's mine. CCSB 4x4 and I averaged 15-17 in town and 19-21 on the highway.

One question, are the head gaskets on these actually as bad as I keep hearing?
