Hey everyone happy new year. Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Steve im from worcester MA and I just picked up a 2006 LBZ ec/sb. truck has 55k miles, heated leather, bose etc. Ive driven duramax trucks for a few years now at work and always liked them so im real excited about owning my own. Im looking to just do a few tasteful mods like insight cts, 4 inch turbo back exhaust, egr block, and most likely a ridge runner tune. anyway nice to meet everyone and Im looking forward to learning from this forum.

thanks guys. ive been looking around here and it seems like this is a more advanced tech forum than DF (like beyond the bolt on stuff) which is great but I did have a quick question about exhausts:

I know piping is piping for the most part but I was recommended silverline exhaust and every pic ive seen of it seems like the tailpipe section hangs really low. Does anyone know if this is correctable with adjustment? I want the pipe to exit the truck like an inch below the quarter panel, not 3 or 4 inches. All the pics just seem like the piping exits in the middle of nowhere and looks like its missing a hanger or about to fall off.

I figured the newb section would be the best place to ask this. thanks for any help

I know with the mbrp system you can adjust how low it hangs by loosening the last clamp and rotating the last piece of the exhaust, if that makes sense. I would imagine all bolt on kits would be the same.

Also, welcome:thumb:. I am just over the border in NH and there are a lot of guys from MA on here.

:welcome7:

I have done both Banks and a Diamond Eye exhaust systems. The fit and finish was better on the Banks, but I did not want to spend the extra $$ on the throw down truck. As Janimal said, on both of my kits the last pipe could be rotated to adjust the pipe height under the quarter panel to some extent.

My banks fit like a glove and has factory style hangers, not cheap hangers built onto the clamps. I would spend the money on it again if I buy another truck.

All the time! Winter is slow but come spring we hit up many of the diesel events locally. If you look below in the regional forums someone will usually post what's coming up.

Welcome fellow Masshole. My MBRP 5" hung down a little lower than I wanted it to so I went to Auto Zone and picked up a shorter rear hanger. Now it exits less than 2 inches from the rear panel and is nice and flat.
