Hello all. I am new to the forum and I am in the market for a new to me truck. I live in Florida and will be using the truck to pull my 9000 lbs boat around the flat roads of Florida. I will also be using the truck to travel across Alligator alley at least once a week.

I have found two trucks that I like but both are very high miles.

The first is a 2007 GMC Crew 4x4 2500 with the LBZ. It has about 250K miles. The other is a 2006 Chevrolet Crew LT 4x4 2500 with the LBZ which also has 250k miles. Both look great but have serious miles. What should I look for when evaluating both of these trucks? (btw both are the exact same price)

Thanks!

Welcome, I've got an LB7 with ruffly 236k miles love it and it suits me well... Most of are trucks have Pump Rub issue's and its a simple fix when ya buy the pump kit... I've read a handful of threads where the LBZ's like to eat cranks, will one of those do it? Who knows, but if ya can get it at a good price jump on it..

They're essentially the same exact truck just with different grills, badges, and possibly interiors. The 06 may be detuned slightly from factory. Maybe. But with a tune that doesn't even matter because the engines are both capable of the same power. Assuming they're both in great condition and have been well cared for it just comes down to which body style you prefer

GMC's are far superior to the CHEVY. Everybody knows GMC means GROWN MAN'S CHEVY. I would keep looking if it was me. There are planty of trucks out there with 100K miles on them for decent money. You may have to search for awhile, but it's better than jumping in and getting somebody elses worn out truck that needs front end work and everything else that comes with that kind of milage. I just saw an 08 with 28K miles on it for decent money up in Clearwater.
