Hey,

Don't have a diesel yet but planning on getting one. Had a 2007 Tacoma I was using for truck duties that just got totaled in a accident. Looking at a 06 2500HD LBZ right now. Have read a bunch so far and have learned a lot. Hope to join the ranks soon!

Sounds cool... I had two Tacomas in the past, 1 I put a TRD blower on, TRD headers, built custom exhaust, custom intake, etc. etc. Beat the piss out of it and sold it at 142,000 miles... still ran and shifted perfect. Great trucks. I think you will like the LBZ, thats a good rig to go with :thumb:

EDIT: Ok, I had to dig up a picture of that truck. Good memories!

Thanks everyone for the welcome; sorry about delay in responding.
I ended up picking the truck up I was looking at and looks like I get to dive right in to my first Chevy.
The front diff was leaking which I thought wouldn't be that bad of a fix. It was leaking at the case seam so I had to pull it (total pain in the ass) to split it and reseal. Looks like it had leaked all the fluid out at one point since the ring and pinion are messed up.
Looks like a new R&P install is in my future. So reading up on it this MAY be out of my skill level though I don't mind learning. If people read this, any good sites or good shops near Portland/Vancouver that can set one of these up?

I'll try to post more on here, but so far just doing maintenance stuff and I've had good luck answering my questions through the search.
