Hey guys I am new and unfortunately not a proud owner of a Duramax...at least not yet. I am here to learn more about them and maybe even find one in your classifieds section.

I am just graduating from the University of Nebraska in December and it is time to buy a new pickup to pull my car around. Being the new guy I hope you guys don't haze me to badly.

I found a nice loaded LT2 2004 LLY cc/sb 4wd truck for $16,000 with 160k miles, are the LLY's known for injectors as much as the LB7's? Or was that problem more or less resolved?

Hey bud welcome to the forum! the lly did not have the injector issues the lb7 had, however some did have a overheating issue, but was cause by the mouthpiece,,,just put a lbz mouthpiece on it and your ready to go! Make sure to utilize the search bar on here, it will get from from a-z!

I have searched a few topics with success but injector specific questions yield so many results it is hard to sift through all of the topics for the answer you need. Every forum I join is a little different and I don't want to be the guy who asks the same question every new guy does so I am trying my best :)

Kansas when I am home
No worries man, we were all new at one time. Anything we can do to help you out with your purchase just ask away.

The best thing you can do when you look at a truck is get it's VIN number and post it in the Vin check section here and you can get a history of your trucks service issues or fixes.

The LLY was a good motor but did have some overheating issues that can be fixed with an AFE or LBZ mouth piece. Also they had some issue with the wireing harness on the passenger side of the motor causing some issue with injectors but I beleive there was a service bulletin about it.

Almost came home with a truck tonight, waiting for it to run through the dealership service department but hopefully it checks out.

I went to LSE too. Its just a personal preference, but I would avoid a truck the had a tuner on it. You don't know what shape the trans is in unless you plan on having it build anyways.
