I shouldn't have waited so long to get a truck. When I was 16, I drove a 96 GMC Suburban for 5 years, then switched to imports for a while. Fast forward a few years, it was time to sit back up high. So welcome to the garage my new toy, a 2006 Chevy K2500 LT. I've put about 2,000 miles on her so far, already replaced fuel filter, oil, oil filter, Cyl. 2 glow plug, trans fluid, and trans external filter. The truck came with an airaid intake and MBRP catback exhaust. I think the wheel bearings are going out, will be replacing those next week. Plan to double check the ball joints while I'm in there. I'm at just over 117,000 miles, and I plan to make her last a long time.

For the most part I will always do my own work. I've got a big enough garage and the luxury of extra cars in the event it isn't a one day job. Looking forward to using the helpful threads on here, and adding input when I can.

Looks good.

Try to use Timken or SKF hubs if you can afford them, and remember to shoot a bit of grease into them thru the ABS sensor hole every year to help them stay in good shape.

It looks like you got a clean truck.:thumb: judging by the previous owners mods(chrome trim and a cb)it was an elderly mans truck. they love the autozone chrome, and are religious with maintenance. Any big plans for appearance or performance? AND

Thanks fellas. It was the cleanest truck I've found. Got lucky that the buyer before me couldn't get his loan approved, and I happened to be second in line to buy. Came back from the test drive a 2 people were waiting to see the truck.

Previously this was a Canadian truck. Owner's manual is all in French. So I was a bit hesitant at first. However, the entire underside of the truck was coated, and good service history. From what I could gather, it was indeed an older gentleman who used it to tow his boat.

As for future plans, Besides an EGR delete, I don't think I will be modifying the truck. I've got my other toys to throw money at. I'll be using this to tow my car to the race tracks, tow the boat, and eventually a 5th wheel camper.
