I picked up this BEAUTY 01 lb7 2wd last weekend, It had 538000km on it. Fluids all look awesome, new injectors 6 months ago and drives like a dream, I was a little nervous when I asked him to start it and BAM fired right up no smoke, its ready for some nitrous! I paid 2000$ for it. I have a converter for it and I am just going to put a shift kit in it. I know I will have a few people read this and say YOU MIGHT AS WELL BUILD IT! but I don't care, its a little experiment i'm going to do. So the plans for this year are slam it, toyo proxys, nitrous, converter-shift kit, these are all parts I have sitting around. next year it will be chopped and we can add another reg cab short bed to the mix! I think I'm just going to get a 2wd v6 truck and switch the body. The camo job was done by hand with a brush. CLASSY! lol This is going to be an extreme budget build due to my upcoming wedding, trying to build a house and my pull truck seems to drink money

I know I read about one 6 speed holding 700 with a converter and a shift kit so hopefully a converter and shift kit can hold 550 to 650 for about 15-30 passes

I've got a poll on fb on whether or not to keep the paint. My fiancee hates it. The paint is staying. I might give it a light sanding and clear coat it though :) I will post pics as it progresses. It's sad that I like driving this better then my 04 cummins with 240000 on it, and it's in perfect shape. Way nicer ride So a miled out 2wd dmax is still better then a dodge lol.

Ok so I think I'm going to twin this thing as well as nitrous. I'm looking for the flang or the hole pipe to use the stock charger, anyone know where I could find such a thing? I could make one but I would rather not hack it together

Uhhhhh. Lbz couldnt break 500rwhp with stock trans (though my tq 1051 lb ft says i had the fuel and air to make it happen).... 700 with a converter would be impressive, not sayin it didnt happen but it sure didnt happen for me

I've been digging for the thread I saw it in, I think it was last year, all he did was converter and shift kit and rocked 20 passes out of it before a full build, claiming it never went down. time will tell, I have another trans in the shop that I could build, just trying to avoid it for the time being. the truck wont be daily driven, just down the strip. I am in no way confident that the trans will hold up. But I am going to try it. How neat would it be if I could get to see a rod before I see that engine light... liiiiiiiiiiimp lol For next year it will be a mild build, using lbz rods lb7 pistons ect.. I want to be around 550-650 next year with a MAJOR diet

The engine thats in the truck will be dead by the end of the summer. I have a spare lb7 and allison with 170000km them out of a totalled truck that will be getting the real build. I'm just going to try and keep the torque numbers down and see how much this thing can take with 538000km:thumb:
