Well, it was a good day for me at the track today. I only had two good all out passes, but the truck was working good. I ran in the super street class at the NHRDA race today. I had run a little faster than an 11.5 earlier in the day, and they told me to slow it down to 11.5 and slower. Well, I made it to the finals agianst the Rudy's Performance 6.4 PowerStroke. He had made a few 10.8 passes earlier, and I wasn't about to let up on it in a real race. I had my 2500 uS tune on it and had done a little wastegate tuning and lost about 250-300 lbs in weight (put me down around 6700) and figured I'd see what that Ford had. Turns out it didn't have enough. The best he could manage against me was an 11.35 @ 121.68 MPH. My run went down like this:
60': 1.687
330': 4.685
1/8: 7.164
MPH: 99.07
1000: 9.311
1/4: 11.133
MPH: 123.49
:happy2:
It was pretty funny on my earlier sub 11.5 pass. I pulled up to get my slip, and the lady at the ET booth was looking at the slip then at my truck then back at the slip, she looks up at me and says, "Is this truck number 5215?"
I look at the number I had written on my window and say, "Yes."
She says, "You can't run this fast!"
I say, "How fast did I run?"
She says, "You don't have a roll bar. You don't have a 5-point harness. You don't have a fire jacket. You have a helmet, but that's it!"
I say again, "How fast did I run?"
She looks at the ticket and says, "11.17. You need to keep it slower than 11.5"
I'm looking at her trying not to celebrate too much and say, "I'll try to slow it down"
That pass was an 11.177 @ 122.20 MPH
Edit: Even though I beat the guy in the finals, I ended up going home with first. One of the rules for the class is you must have the proper safety gear for your ET and MPH. Since I didn't have a bar or anything, I didn't meet the rule. They decided since the guy I ran was within the rules he would get credit for the win. He was a cool guy, and made the trip all the way from North Carolina to run.
