800k. And that was a big discount from the list price. Three spindles to choose from, 8, 10, 20. We got the 10.

An a61 is about 300k.

Yeah the 61's are what I have seen....a 92 must be a biggin.

800K.....yeah....need to keep that spindle turning for a while. I program CNCs all day and I still love watching videos of the latest greatest tool/machine in action.

Happiness is turbo whistle and the sound of chips hitting the window on a cnc....:D

Sadness is the sound of a 300 pound chunk of stainless flying out of a 24 inch chuck at 600 rpm, lodging between one of the jaws and to bed way. 60 hp motor still trying to turn the spindle. Absolute carnage.

um.....yeah. I think I might poo my pants at that point. :D Times like that, the e-stop is never big enough, close enough or where you thought it was. Been there....it sucks.

Well the bright side is that the 300 lb chunk of stainless stayed in the machine....at least no one is wearing it as a hat. :thumb:

I worked in a big shop where we cut large impellers for pumps. Story from the old salts was that years ago one got loose out of a big engine lathe and chased a guy down the aisle.....screaming the whole way. Moral of the story: Run at right angles to the spindle!

Grab some vids of that thing running when it gets setup....can't wait to see'em.

Here is a video I made. I am still playing around with the editing software but anyways here is my first video.

I made a few typos in the credits. INC is supposed to be Inc. Duh. Oh well.

So...when should we expect the first Dmax billet block to be done?

You know you want to do it....:D

If Pat would reverse engineer a block, I will machine it! I'm sure he doesnt have time for that though. Niether do I.

Billet steel block and billet steel heads with fire rings and 6 - 8 bolts per cylinder. Now that would be an impressive setup.

Wonder if SoCal would share some of their porting information to help cut billet heads?

Problem is, I don't have time to do the engineering. I would need someone to do that and get me to machine it.

I was hoping to use 14mm studs, and add material so I could poke it out bigger....
