neutral while drivin???

a friend of mines duramax is hittin neutral while drivin on the freeway even though the selector is in drive. then when put into neutral then back into drive everything is fine. what would this be????

hes running a programmer right? if so i bet he is limping the trans.

yeah he is runnin efi live i suggested a limp but he is not gettin a code is the programmer overidin the code.

i never got a code when mine limped, i doubt the tune would block the code

Could be transfercase.

well like i said it goes right back while drivin if you go to neutral then drive does the transfer case have any part of that evolution without switches bein pushed

Has he checked for codes with efilive, or just going by no light on? How many miles and what year? Driven hard or easy?

drive lil hard had not had chance to check it has 56000 on it
