Decided I need some sort of steps, to save my steering column, door pin bushings and seat cushion. Now I really was set on a set of Amp power steps for the incognito look, however the 1400 miles I have put on my truck since I have finished, has shown a lot of rock chips. I know that's partially my fault due to wheel/tire combo and the lift. So now I am leaning towards 5" ovals, as I think they will help slow the rock chips down. Also with that being said, I am against mud flaps. Just looking for opinions, I am leaning towards black personally.

If you personally don't mind the look of having running boards on the truck, I'd say the 5" black ovals would look ok with your truck, would probably prevent some of the chipping from rocks, and wouldn't cost you over a grand.

I personally like the AMP power steps, its what I would put on, and its the only step I would put on my truck. You can't really completely prevent rocks hitting your truck, and the 5" oval boards would be a very minimal solution to that issue, maybe get bigger fender flares.

I like the looks of n fab but their powder coating is horrible. Mine didn't make it a full winter. Maybe ss would hold up if you go the n fab route

I know the 5" ovals won't stop rock chips, but I think they will help some. Already have bushwacker pocket flares, that extend quite aways at the bottom. Biggest problem is the extended track width that the lift caused, further aggravated by wheel width and offset, plus the bfgs

Haha sorry. I like your truck without bars. I feel your pain about the paint damage though.
