I feel like my truck needs to be hotlapped to get it to pull hard...
If I hammer down on it, it doesn't seem to take off very fast. at all. But if I keep making WOT runs thru all the gears it will start to pull harder.
Does that make sense to anyone??

Basically if I floor it 5 times, the fastest run would be the fifth time, it's like it stops defueling the more runs I make, and the transmission forgets how to shift and needs to be taught how again

Anybody else feel this way?

my guess is the trans. IS learning to shift better and handle the power better with each consecutive WOT run and is making the truck feel better and faster after each consecutive pass. Eventually it'll probably start feeling the same after a few jaunts at WOT once it's got the routine figured out as best it can. Just a WAG though. :)

when you run use tow haul or leave it regular? if you always put it in tow when you beat on it the trans will remember that....sound slike you beat on it then drive around and the trans relearns for the lower level of abuse

I only use tow haul for getting on it... and drive in O/D when just cruising around. But why would the trans forget how to shift? I havent changed anything on the truck for awhile

I now when I dynoed my 3 rd run was the my strongest as I did not drop near the rail pressure as the other 2 runs did with FPRV popin. I don't know if the repeated full throttle pulls just pack the rails full maybe after you lift?

my fastest pass is always my first pass... once everything gets heat soaked power decreases and so does ET

If I run my truck just long enough to get the engine temp up It does feel like its a little off, shifts a little hard and just doesnt seem to have quite the power. If I get on it after it's been on the road for a while, long enough to get the tranny up to temp and the diff hot it feels a little stronger. I know what your talking about;)
