So pulled the intercooler today expecting the famous split on the driverside bottom corner. well as my luck would have it, its split. Just not on the outside. its split under the brace that runs the length of the intercooler (see pic below).

Question is, anyone think it would do any harm to cut the brace a couple inches back, pull out the end thats in the tank and weld it up? maybe do the same on the other side as prevenitive maintence (its not leaking yet though)? a weld on the side of the tank is leaking too but thats an easy fix. yes i shouldnt be cheap and jsut buy a new one buuuuuuuut if that were the case i wouldnt be asking you guys your thoughts :D. i wanna get this to my buddy tomorrow after work to weld it up and get the truck running tomorrow so that means i need to get this thing ready tonight.

Well spent two hours on it. We were just about done filling the hole when the torch hit a peice a dirt, popped, and a peice of hot aluminum hit a core and burnt a hole in it. Boy is welding one of those up a royal bitch. I left my block off parts at the house so were couldnt pressure test it so we crossed our fingers it was plugged.

Got it home, hooked it up and nope. Three holes we missed. So i grabbed some jb weld and plugged them for now till i can buy a new cooler. Also found the upper brace was leaking on the same side tank. Not as bad as the lower but starting so i cut it out and jb welded that too. See how long this lasts lol
