need some input on under coating

hey guys... the frame of my truck looks like crap.... i wanna make it look nice again... what kinda under coat should i use??? a friend of mine told me to use something that sets up and hardens.... he said that some companys make some that stay tacky for over a year.... anyone have any input???

You can steam clean the frame. The use Por 15 and also Napa sales stuff that is very hard frame pair that stops rust and is Damn hard to get off once on.

Henry where would one go about getting a steam cleaner to do this? Could you do under the cab without making a complete mess? I'd like to take my bed off to do the rear, but the front stuff would have to stay on.

Should be able to rent one or get a good degreaser and a normal pressure washer and just start cleaning. Some of the tight spots might need some 2+2 gum cutter and get into the corners by hand. Try getting the truck up in the air the best you can to make it easier for yourself. Once its all clean and dry you can mask it off and take a low pressure touch up gun adn spray the chassic paint comes out nice and shiny I think Shortz just did most of his under side like this.

I would deffinatly try to find a steam cleaner...I have used the industrial ones at my dads business to strip paint...their for degreasing big truck parts...try to find something like that it will cut the coating off super fast but you just have to be careful...check at a CAT rental center or something

most paint companies sell a chassis black paint, its an exact factory match
