I've been without a truck for 3 weeks almost, after selling my LLY, I dont know if I'm getting desperate or what, but three weeks without a Duramax kind of puts a guy in a different state of mind than, you'd normally be. I found 2 trucks worth looking at in the past 5 weeks or so, I started looking before I gave selling my LLY any serious thought.

I really cant believe how rare RED SLT GMC's are, but I found one that I liked, it doesnt have cab lights like I wanted, but I can easily fix that, and a sun roof I can live without. It'd just like to get some opinions on the price here they said $40,600, and maybe they could do a few hundred less. I was thinking if I could get it for $38,000-39,000 and have them throw in all the GM, D/A, Sierra, 2500HD badges, and a set of Towing Mirrors, it'd be a good deal, but that might jsut be me getting desperate. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.j...00&cardist=126&standard=false&captcha=success

Then I found a Black one that has everything I could ever want in a LMM, except for tow mirrors but its black. I figure I'll take a look at it and then maybe that'll help me make a decision one way or the other. Just looking for some opinions good or bad, maybe to help clear my cloudy judgement or to solidify anything I may be thinking. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.j...n=&max_price=46000&cardist=169&standard=false

I like both but I'd rather have red than black

Black scratches easy and is too hot here

not sure about your area but the prices seem average

When did they get so high? Friend bought a cc sb lmm 4x4 in 07 for less than $40K. Now u r looking at 2 y.o. trucks for more money? Did they really go up that much the last few years?

I've seen 07.5-08 trucks closer to $30K for cc sb 4wd with avg miles. Not sure how they compare to options on trucks u r looking at but those just seem crazy to me. They sticker at 46-50K new but no one pays sticker do they? They don't here.

16 months ago, a co-worker I talked into buying a D-max and selling his Cummins bought a brand new 08 LT1 for $36,000. I could of bought a 09 LT1 2 weeks ago for $39,000, but theres both plain jane LT1's with no options, I'd like to hold out and see if I can find better deals, but I've already waited 3 weeks, looked for 5, but I guess all it takes is just that one right truck. My luck I'll find exactly what I want and it'll be a lemon that gets 12 mpg. I bought my 05 loaded SLE when it was 3 years old for $19.5 OTD so maybe its time for karma to bite me.

Gm went bankrupt and jacked up the prices

I looked at a new SLE Sierra and it was missing a few options and it was 54K:eek:

I have noticed a huge swing in prices

at the end of 2008 my truck was worth practically nothing you could get a new LMM for 30K

Now they are not giving them away anymore and incentives are not good

Just got back from looking at both of these, they were both nice trucks, the red one was the one I was really interested I just looked at the black one mainly because I was already almost there after driving 3 hours to check out the red one.

The Red truck seemed to not have been taken very good care of, apparently it was in a accident at one time and the box side was replaced, there was some overspray on the cab. On the edge the drivers side door there was a 6 inch long section of paint wore down to the primer, numerous other spots where there were pretty significant paint chips and just general spots where layers of clear coat where missing and it was wore down into the base coat or primer. It was also in the dealer quite a few times for a 30,000 mile truck. Seemed to get good mileage cruising down the highway though if you can trust the DIC. They asked me to make a offer, I told them I couldnt make one that we could both reasonably agree on and left. I had also appeared to have never been washed, it was showing rust on the frame that even my 05 hadn't had, and the DPF back Magnaflow exhaust on it was brown and curdled with rust, my MBRP looked brand new after 2 winters, except for under the band clamps. But I guess moral of the story is, as desperate as I am for a truck, I still have some good judgement left.
