I need a 6 Rib Serpentine Belt for my project. It needs to be app 144 inches long. If anybody knows of a manufacturer who makes extra long belts or ones to order or at worst if somebody can successfully join them up I would appreciate being pointed in their direction. Thanks.

Try to find a 8,10, or 12 ripped Serpentine belt and cut the rest of the unused ripps off. You don't find a 6 ripped that long.

The belt that came with my dual fueler is 144in long? I can't remember the numbers off the top of my head, But it says on it Power New--6 rib-- something(I can't remember the rest off the top of my head.

I can't find anyone around here that can cross to that brand though.:(

It had entered my mind. I may have to give it a try. Thanks for that

I'll get the no. off the belt for you tomorrow Mick. And if you can find anywhere to get one you'll have to let me know, I have got to do something about mine too, I was down to 3 ribs on it when the crank broke. No one around here is smart enough to figure out what I mean when I tell them to get me an 8 rib and I'll cut two ribs off of it. :)

dual fueler belt is 136. Id say its for his twin blowers.

Mines not. ;)

I've been through that argument before... a couple of times.:D Mine is 144 and now that the maker of my kit is no longer with us, I'm having a heck of a time finding one that will fit it right.:)

I think my stocker is that long...dual alts and vac pump...13 pulleys total:eek:

I bet it's close.

On edit: mine measures 146 inches not 144. I suppose maybe it's just some stretch in it, but if not is there any chance that it will still work Mick?

I reckon I could make 146" work Kev. My measurement is with tensioner on full lock so I have some there and I can always put another idler in. The closest Ive been able to get to so far is 149.6". Got a name or #, anything?

Power New 6PK 3740

Measures exactly 145.5 inches long.
The next closest one I've found is Dayco 5061490 which is the same length that you found already.:)

I don't know how you have your pulleys set up but I was able to make a belt 119in long work on mine for now.
The first one is the Dayco 149 that runs the same as my 146in. It is to long and the tensioner is maxed out and the pulleys can be turned by hand still.
The second is a 119in. belt that I found under the back seat.:D It might be the factory belt, I don't know what else it would be in the truck for.

Have you turned on your A/C with that belt config?

Not yet. Got an appointment to get it vacuumed and charged back up Wed morning. It came on for just a second but it's out of freon and just kicked back off. It's tight but I don't know if it's tight enough.

It doesn't look like the belt has a lot of contact with the A/C pulley. I was just curious if it was enough to make it work still. I was asking because I'm wanting to install a York compressor in my second alt location, and I will need to figure out a way to make it work if I can't find a long enough belt. Let me know how it does.

If you are running a stock balancer still you should be able to use the Dayco belt and just add the idler between the pump and compressor. That's how we did it on my buddies truck. We just bought an idler and machined out a spacer to put behind it and used the hole that was already in the front cover. The So Cal pulley is just a little smaller so I can't use that belt with it.
