I have a buddy that bought a spare Tranny and had a mild build done on it. After installing it he has been having issues. The truck will shift 1-2 very nicely, but after 2nd it will shift 3-4-lockup within a couple seconds. The converter will not unlock until its put in nuetral. As of right now all the electronics are unplugged except the nuetral safety and it is still doing it.

I don't know anything about Dodge tranny's so any ideas will be great.

Let me see if I can get ahold of a friend of mine. Worked as a dodge tech for years.

Sounds like you have more than one problem. Have the two solenoids been replaced ( TCC and 4th gear )? With the 3 prong connecter off you will not get 4th but if the TCC solenoid is bad it can hold the converter clutch on. Plugged cooler will hold the converter clutch on as well. You can also have a governor problem in the extension housing as those valves wear out. If this happen right after build, it could be a valve body problem.

Travis here is what my friend said
Tcc valve stuck into bore of valve body, orange wire on solenoid connector shorted to ground or insides of converter are jacked

Both solenoids have been replaced. The governor has been gone through and the valve body was swapped. The last owner of the trans had issues with the truck starting out in the wrong gear before my buddy had it rebuilt.

All the electronics have been unplugged and the truck will still shift to 4th and get lockup. Could there be something wrong in the case itself? Maybe cross bleeding pressure? I am going to hook a pressure gauge to it tomorrow but I don't know which test port is what. I know there is 6 of them in a row? Also gonna check the valve body over.
