Ok On my fiance's car, 95 Cavalier, is having some electrical gremlins. Yesterday I replaced the starter. In doing so I noticed the ground cable from the battery was very corroded. It goes from Battery post to battery tray(very rusty) then to a bolt on the engine. I got a new cable to put on that went directly from battery to motor. I also put one from Motor to frame to make sure everything is grounded.

last night she calls saying her door locks are locking and unlocking on their own, all dash warning lights are on, dash lights are very dim and head lights were dim also, but the farther she drove the dash warning lights went away and the dash lights brightened up along with the headlights. Did I not have it grounded good enough?

I would say its the ground. My cavalier wasnt getting good ground once and it was doing all sorts of weird shit, i could hear shit clicking under the dash, and then it would just die when i was driving.

Yes, GM's will freak out if there isn't steady juice.

Another problem you'll see in those years is the battery post breaking internally. If you have good connections, and it still has intermittent problems, replace the battery, and make sure there is some slack in the cables.

No need now. The Head gasket blew on her today. I've got her talked into getting a new vehicle, finally. 95 with 178k. it was a matter of time. So now she's drving my little 1500 with a 4.3. I knew that truck would come in handy.
