Need Help, Think I Blew Up An Up Pipe

Was at Scheid's today drag racing against a OBS 7.3 and he beat me. Not to mention smoke was coming in through my vents. I have 2lbs of boost but turbo still spools though not like normal which leads me to believe I blew up a bellow up pipe of the driver's side. Sound reasonable, when I rev it smoke comes out somewhere behind the turbo on the driver's side. Does this happen often? What are my options, stock replacement, Rick's up pipes, am I missing anyone else?

May have just blown a gasket. If you are going to replace them I would use RDL's

Yup, blew the bellow on the passenger side for the egr. I think since I just had a plate blocking off the port and no real support that the vibrations caused it t fail. The passenger side up pipe to turbo gasket had also failed as well. I gotta say thanks to Rick for his awesome work on these up pipes. Changed the sound of the turbo again too. Driving it is the best part, response is like everyone else says, greatly improved, turbo spool up is phenomenal. 1/4 acceleration I might see 7-10 psi, now it rockets up to 20psi. Haven't done any 4hi launches yet but full throttle 2wd from is more dangerous than ever. Also smoke more now.

Here's what I learned from this, hopefully this helps someone:
Make sure you have 3/8 and 1/2 inch 12mm 12 pt sockets, the more adapters the better, swivel sockets and ujoints are very useful, cheater bars of various lengths, PB Blaster is your friend, so are gear wrenches, Permatex Hi-Temp Spray gasket maker and anti seize (both have copper in them).

Quick overview of what I did:
- Disconnect batteries
- Jack up and remove passenger side tire
- Remove inner fender liners
- Remove driver side intercooler piping
- I didn't have a turbo heat shield anymore but I think it would be in the way so probably remove that too
- Remove downpipe, don't worry it was a lot easier to put it back in than getting it out since the egr part of the up pipe will be deleted
- Remove driver side up pipe heat shield
- Spray all the up pipe bolts you can get to with PB Blaster
* Note: You have three places to access the up pipe bolts from: under the truck, under the hood behind the turbo (this will suck for people with big or short arms), and through the passenger side wheel well (this location made my life so much easier after I thought of doing this).
- Remove the passenger side up pipe first, this makes it easier to remove the driver side afterwards. There are 3 12mm 12pt bolts and a gasket on each end. I accessed these bolts from all three spots I talked about.
- Now remove the driver side up pipe bolts, I accessed them from the pass wheel well and under the truck mostly.
- I don't know if this was neccessary but I used Permatex Hi-Temp Spray gasket maker on the gaskets and hi temp anti-seize on the bolts.
*Another frustrating thing is trying to get the gaskets in the right position, they only go on one way but its hard to do when putting them in behind the turbo.
-Reinstall everything in the revese order, now is also a good time to delete the EGR too.

I have bruises and cuts all over my arms from doing the swap this weekend but it was worth now that its done.

Thanks BML, I just started tearing mine apart tonight for the headers up pipes, turbo and injectors. I think I'm a little over my head but time will tell.

that is the most common place for them to go. It needs the support from the EGR. But you have got it whooped now. I need a set for sure.
