NEED HELP! kodiac broke on side of road

my buddy has been driving a kodiac accross the counrty hauling 2 cars at a time. he has been out on the road for a few weeks. he called me just a minute ago and says he started climbing a hill in georgia and all of a sudden the truck started rolling blue and white smoke, oil pressure went to 80, boost wont go over 20. pulled off and said its skipping real bad at idle. said it hasnt been cut off but 2 times in 3000 miles. its got a ppe execelartor on it, and he says its set on level 3. i think he melted a piston? anybody got any suggestions

its defiantly a piston, open up the oil cap with it running, smoking real bad, and hissing.

is there a lot of blowby when he opens the oil cap with the engine running?? Sounds like a cracked piston.

Does he have an EGT gauge??

160hp tune is WAYYYY too hot to be towing heavy with a kodiak IMO...and im not surprised it (most likely) blew up...

yeah, lots of blowby. yeah hes an idiot for running it that way. i didnt know anything about it till he called this morning. asked him about the egts, he said the gauge quit working last week. hes used to driving big rigs where the egts dont really get that hot. oh well

thanks guys, he had it towed to a dealer. its only got 61k on it.
