i had bought 2 cp3's from gm. gave them 2 cores when i picked up the new pumps. now i am being told that one pump wasnt a good core and they are not telling me why. also gm junked the bad core and are refusing to send it back. gm is now telling me i am on the hook for a $200 core charge. the parts guy is being super cool so far, its the people above him are bringing this on. the parts guy is trying to tell gm that people dont bring in pumps because they are dirty, and gm is having none of it. anyone have any phone numbers of a gm contact that could help me out? or have any direction of where i could go? at a loss here. there might be a chance that i can send another core in, but then gm would have 3 cores for only 2 pumps. help please

Core

It's frustrating, but it could be true. I've had some long conversations with a fellow who does stroker pumps. Many of the pumps sent in for work can't be used. If it's been sitting around for even a few months, the insides can be corroded to where it's no good for doing a stroker. Sometimes they're not even acceptable as cores. The ULSD fuel is such crap, molecules break down after a few months and release stuff that harms a pump's internals. That's why he builds strokers using new reman Bosch pumps.

If they trashed one of the pumps and didn't send it back to me it sounds like they bought it. Try getting a number higher than the parts guy and start making complaints. If they didn't send you back your junk core then they bought it.
